The Japanistic Blog is the non-commercial side of Japanistic.com, a site devoted to the exploration of cool, fun, affordable, and hard-to-find items from Japan. All of us involved with Japanistic have a deep appreciation for both traditional and contemporary Japanese design. We particularly love it when traditional Japanese patterns and design mixes with a European aesthetic. Shinzi Katoh is one of our favorites for this very reason. His Japanese interpretation of French culture is simultaneously pretty, adorable, cool, and extremely compelling.
Japanistic is also proud to be a part of the Essentials family, including ShopEssentials.net, and ShopTintin.com. In fact, Japanistic is a spin-off from a section on the ShopEssentials website formerly titled “Parlez-Vous Japonais”. The “Japanese” section grew so fast and was so popular that it no longer made sense to try and cram it in to the old site.
